TILE CALCULATION
For the calculation purpose, let us consider a room of size 10ft.×10ft.
To calculate the number of tiles required for this room, we will calculate the area of this room.
Room area = L × B
10ft × 10 ft.= 100 sq.ft.
Flooring Tiles.
Now, we will consider floor tile of size = 30cm (1 feet) × 30cm (1 feet)
Area of one tile = l × b
= 1x1
= 1 sq.ft.
Now the number of tilesrequired for room is
= area of room ÷ area of one tile.
= 100 sq.ft ÷ 1 sq.ft
= 100 nos.
Now let us calculate the number of tile boxes required for this room.
Suppose if the number of tiles in a box is 10 nos. (no. of floor tile in a box varies as per the size, thickness & brand)
Then, dividing the total number of tiles by the number of tiles in a box, we get
100 nos ÷ 10nos
= 10 Nos. say, 10 boxes.
