TYPES OF SLAB
1. ONE WAY SLAB
2. TWO WAY SLAB
( Above classification is based on the distribution of load that is whether the load is shared by one direction means one-way slab & load sharing by two direction means two-way slab)

ONE WAY SLAB
- Slabs are supported by the beams in the two opposite direction
- Main reinforcement is provided on a shorter span due to load distribution
- The ratio of Longer span to shorter span is equal to or greater than 2. (i.e l/b ≥ 2)
- The deflected shape of the one-way slab is cylindrical.
TWO WAY SLAB
- Slabs are supported by beams in all four directions in the case of a two-way slab
- Main reinforcement is provided in both directions due to bending occurs in both direction
- The ratio of Longer span to shorter span is less than 2. (i.e l/b< 2).
- The deflected shape is like a dish or saucer in the case of a two-way slab
