Importance of AAC block
- Colour
- Lightweight
- Fire resistance
- Energy efficiency
- Thermal efficiency
- Water absorption
- Sound insulation
- Affordable cost
The compressive strength of ACC block is around 3 to 4.5 N/mm2 and their typical dry thickness is approx 550 - 650 Kg/m3 & wet thickness is 800 Kg/m3.
Comparison of AAC block with Red clay Bricks
- Colour - Greyish-white (AAC) Red colour (Clay Bricks)
- Lightweight - 50% lighter than red bricks
- Fire resistance - Between two and six hours, based on the thickness
- Energy efficiency 25% reduction in air-conditioning costs
- Thermal efficiency Three times higher than clay bricks
- Water absorption About 10% of its weight
- Sound insulation 42 dB (approximately)
- Affordable cost Nearly one-third of the cost of regular bricks
