RAMP - INTRODUCTION
Ramps are sloped or inclined pathways used to provide a connection between vertical levels( between two-floor level). Ramps provide an alternative way or access to stairs for those who are using wheelchair and with people with mobility issues
RAMP CONSTRUCTION CHECK
1. The ramps are usually Sloped at 1 in 10 to 1 in 15.
2. The ramp floor should not be too smooth for users, because it may be a cause for the slippage of users. The finishing of ramp floors is usually with rough surfaces
3. The shape of the ramp does not need to be in a straight line. It can be of any shape.
4. The ramp should be provided with a handrail on both sides with a height of 3 feet or 1meter.
5. Ramps are mostly constructed in government buildings(such as hospitals, government offices, school buildings, colleges, etc.) where people’s flow is large.

HOW TO FIND THE SLOPE OF RAMP?
The slope of a ramp is Usually calculated as the ratio of the vertical height(H) to the length of the horizontal length (d). The slope of the ramp is also called as gradient or steepness of the ramp and can be expressed either in ratio or in percentage.
For example,
if the horizontal distance 'd' = 20 m and the height of ramp h = 2 m,
then the slope of the ramp is 10%
